[ OPS SPEC ]

// BUILT BY TRADES

I scaled a deck and railing business before writing OPS. SPEC starts the same way: field problems first, software second.

[ STANDING BEHIND THE WORK ]

01

30 days to walk away

Every tier. One invocation, written notice, no defect proof required. Thirty days from delivery to decide it isn't right.

02

What happens if you do

SPEC-01: your money back — the automations live in your accounts and stay put. Hosted work: we switch it off and refund per the payment schedule. Days, not months.

03

No hostages

Your data exports clean. Your brand assets stay yours. Off-boarding is written into the terms — it's part of the deal, not a negotiation.

[ QUESTIONS ]

What do the three tiers actually do?

SPEC-01 · WORKFLOWS wires together the tools you already use — up to 3 production automations in your own accounts, $2,000 fixed. SPEC-02 · SYSTEMS gives your operation one backbone — jobs, clients, and money in one system, with dashboards — $7,500 fixed. SPEC-03 · PROPRIETARY is a standalone trade tool, designed and operated by us, with your name on it if you want it — from $25,000, total locked at scope sign-off.

Do I need OPS to buy this?

No. SPEC-01 runs entirely in your own accounts — your inbox, your spreadsheets, your tools. You create a free OPS account so approvals and updates have somewhere to live; no subscription required. SPEC-02 needs a subscription only if your backbone lives inside your OPS account. SPEC-03 runs on its own database either way.

How do payments work?

By tier. SPEC-01 is 50/50 — $1,000 books your slot, $1,000 at the delivery walkthrough. SPEC-02 is four checkpoints of $1,875: deposit, scope sign-off, midpoint review, delivery. SPEC-03 opens with a fixed $6,250 deposit against the $25,000 floor; your total locks at scope sign-off and the remainder splits across the last three checkpoints. Everything after the deposit is invoiced net-15.

What's a care plan, and why is it required?

When we operate your system, someone has to be on the hook for it. That's the care plan: $395/mo on SPEC-02, from $750/mo on SPEC-03 — monitoring, fixes, hosting where we run it, store compliance on apps, and included change-hours (2 a month on SYSTEMS, 3 on PROPRIETARY). Work beyond the included hours is $200/hr, always quoted before we start. Billing begins when your support window ends. If your SPEC-02 backbone lives in your own OPS account, care is optional after the support window.

Where does my SPEC-02 backbone live?

Wherever the outcome is best. If you run OPS, we build it into your OPS account and it lives with you. If you don't, we run it standalone on infrastructure we operate — hosting is included in the care plan. Decided in discovery, in writing.

What does white label mean on SPEC-03?

Your name, your icon, your App Store listing — your clients see your company end to end. +$4,000 at build, +$200/mo on care. One line of fine print we'll say out loud: Apple binds the store's Seller field to the developer account, so it reads OPS's legal entity. Everything above the fold is you. And if you ever want full ownership, Apple's App Transfer moves the app to your own account — reviews and installs intact — administered by us at billable hours.

Who owns the code?

We do — you hold the license. Here's the line that matters: your app is exclusive to you. We will never sell it or transfer it to another company. The code underneath is ours to reuse — patterns, components, even building a different tool that does a similar job for someone else. Exclusive to you: your instance, your brand, your configuration, your data. Not exclusive: the code and the concept.

What's the guarantee?

Thirty days from delivery to walk away — one invocation, written notice, no defect proof required. On SPEC-01 that means your money back; the automations live in your accounts and stay put. On hosted work we disable the system and refund per the payment schedule. The exclusions are the obvious ones, written plainly in the terms.

What happens at scope sign-off?

Your intake becomes a written work order — what gets built, what counts as accepted, what becomes a change order. You countersign it before build starts, on every tier. On SPEC-03 it's also where your total locks: the $25,000 floor becomes a fixed number, and it doesn't move after that.

What if I want changes mid-build?

Small course corrections happen inside the build. Anything that changes what the scope document promises becomes a change order — priced in writing before we build it. After delivery, the change-hours on your care plan carry the ongoing evolution.

How fast is this, really?

SPEC-01: about a week of build after a few days of discovery. SPEC-02: three to five weeks end to end. SPEC-03: scoped at sign-off — typically six to ten weeks. The board above shows live intake windows; we take a limited number of engagements at a time.

Can I move up a tier later?

Yes. Start where you are. If WORKFLOWS proves the case for a backbone, or your backbone proves the case for your own app, the conversation is short — and where scope overlaps, what you've already paid is credited toward the bigger build.

Why can't I buy from Quebec?

Quebec's consumer-protection rules require French-language contracts and cancellation mechanics we haven't built yet. Rather than serve Quebec badly, we don't serve it yet. The screening happens before any money moves.

What happens if I stop paying for care?

We don't hold your business hostage. Non-payment pauses the system after notice, and off-boarding is defined in the terms: your data exports clean, your brand assets stay yours, and on white-label apps the App Transfer path is always open. What we don't do is keep operating infrastructure for free.

YOUR MOVE.

Start with a conversation. We'll tell you which tier is yours — or that you don't need one yet.
